We focus on marginalised individuals and communities typified by high incidences of substance abuse, abandoned education and unemployment. We provide:

Accessible foundation phase education and educator training
-
Teen and adult sexual health education
-
Teen and adult literacy
-
Life skills for marginalised youth

Our iExist campaign supports youth and young adults who are illiterate, marginalised, school dropouts or without IDs. They are welcomed on their unique educational journey without prejudice. The Out The Box team works to build skills, esteem, personal responsibility and community spirit to empower each individual with independence and earning potential. iExist is run by a group of dedicated educators mentored by Bryony and facilitated by Somerset College who provide a safe and welcoming space of learning.

Dynamic and innovative sexual health education is a major focus to reduce unplanned pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections and gender based violence. Our impactful approach enables us to share awareness and knowledge directly in communities, in any environment and accessible to both genders. Knowledge sharing is reinforced by our community educators who offer ongoing nurturing and supportive guidance to the youth.

Macassar is a community challenged with gangsterism, substance abuse, gender-based violence, high school dropout rates, adult illiteracy, unemployment and a lack of foundation phase education. We started a street art project in this community during the pandemic lockdown. With over 120 children regularly attending, it quickly developed into a sustainable street school with the donation of the 'Smart Hub' (converted shipping containers) where we provide free foundation phase education and resident teacher training. Each child moves on to primary school well equipped with skills and all their school materials. As a natural extension of Little Smarties, our Youth Development projects are prominent in Macassar, and all school age learners are supported to reach their full potential.

Empowering youth has the capacity to change communities. To impact on promoting positive life choices, reduce gender based violence, gangsterism, and substance abuse. We utilise outdoor education to develop life skills and personal responsibility. Underprivileged communities lack green space and access to biodiversity. Providing communities access to nature affords them a new perspective & teaches respect. Blending diverse communities on our outdoor adventures creates special moments of ‘’Ubuntu’’ whether on our Summit4Purpose hikes, Surf4Life, Park Buddies, or other experiences.
