Bryony

Founder & Director

A medical doctor with 20 years of clinical experience, her expertise has been invaluable in transitioning into social innovation and challenging project management. She has a strong passion to empower wellness, safety and education for women and children. Bryony greatly values kindness, authenticity and Ubuntu and thinks of herself as an optimistic realist. She is dedicated to empowering change in individuals and communities who seek a better future, striving for sustainable growth and a better outcome in her work.

Sandi

Finance & Sustainability

A qualified Chartered Accountant, Sandi has been actively involved in many volunteer organisations including as a Trustee of Starfish Greathearts Foundation (UK), Mercy Ships, and is a Director of the Darcey Sunshine Foundation. She is passionate about empowering individuals and communities allowing them to believe in their own strengths and abilities.

Amorette

Little Smarties Project Manager

Amorette is dedicated to helping those less fortunate, getting to know them individually and encouraging them to be the best they can. She believes each child has such potential and ability and tries to install self belief and worth in a safe and loving environment.

Carmen

Education Consultant

Her passion has always been about children; their wellbeing, education and joy. Along with her deeply rooted sense of serving others, she finds true peace when she has a child’s hand to hold on a journey to a better tomorrow. Being surrounded by the Out the Box team committed to upliftment and causes beyond themselves brings her great fulfillment. She believes in servant leadership and this philosophy serves her well in her role as an educator, where building relationships and connections with children and their families is key. Carmen is Pre-Preparatory Head at Somerset College.

Heidi

Having to leave school in Grade 9 she has been working from an early age to support her family. She always wanted to be a teacher so being a part of the Little Smarties project is like a dream come true. Living in hope to have her own house, where she and her children will be safe and secure.

Kay-Veen

She feels very proud in her role as a teacher at Little Smarties which she does with love and respect.The experience enables her to strive to improve herself and to do better each time. The children's hardships aches her heart, so loving and caring for them with all her heart makes her happy.

Lesley

Lesley dropped out of school in Grade 11 and her journey has led her to find her purpose in teaching children. She finds it amazing to see them growing and learning. Being part of the team at Little Smarties and the effort to keep the children safe and happy fills her heart. She believes helping underprivileged children is the true value of responsibility.

Juanita

Juanita loves being a teacher at Little Smarties, seeing the children's smiles gives her so much joy. She feels honoured to be part of this team. She enjoys ensuring each child gets food, love and lots of fun ways to learn. Juanita would love to complete her matric certificate one day.

Cathy

Cathy left school in Grade 8, loves her role in Little Smarties, particularly the joy of filling hungry children’s tummies. Whilst volunteering she can focus on the precious children and less on life's demands. She is a better person for her responsibilities at Smart Hub and dreams to have a safe home for her family.

Fredmine

Working at the Little Smarties creche is where she found her purpose. She left school early in high school and is a single mother. She loves working with the children and learning to be a better teacher. Fredmine feels very blessed to be a part of this project, expressing how much it has changed her life.

Kathrine

Combining her two greatest passions, education and mindfulness she facilitates holistic education to nurture the whole child in a supportive and inclusive environment. Katherine has a wealth of knowledge in her field and has worked in multiple social & economic environments, firmly believing these tools should be accessible to all. She loves being an integral part of our iExist literacy project, encouraging learners to take an active role in their own health, education and well-being.

Celia

An architect and creative educator with a passion to inspire and equip people to find creative solutions to challenges and opportunities. Her company, Creativity Wake-Up, offers creative thinking training and consulting. She strives to gather support and awareness for community-based organisations and causes.

Taryn

An entrepreneur and interior designer, Taryn pursued a career shift to Wellness Coaching and Neuro Linguistic programming. Her greatest passion is to support & facilitate others to reframe their lives. She operates from a place of purpose being driven by her own life journey.

Elize

My family encouraged me to join this project knowing how being a teacher is such an important part of me. Seeing a child’s face light up and come alive when they experience success in the classroom is what keeps me motivated. I will keep on trying to make a difference, because every child matters.

Janine

Janine balances work in the corporate world with life coaching. She is passionate about changing the lives of young adults, equipping them with the tools to reach their potential and purpose in life. Being part of the growth process of the youth in the iExist project is one of the most fulfilling experiences of her career.

Ellen

Ellen is a retired teacher and facilitator in adult education. She is passionate about empowering young adults to their full potential .She believes that the sharing of knowledge alongside teamwork ultimately brings success. Being a part of the iExist Literacy project gives her great pride and purpose.

Liberty

After completing schooling Liberty wanted to embark on a meaningful journey and engage with children to develop their skills, particularly in the area of safety awareness. Through his work with Out The Box he aims to make a positive impact on young lives, helping them grow into responsible individuals who know how to stay safe and do the right thing.

Debbi

Debbi comes from an entrepreneurial background and is deeply committed to improving the lives of less fortunate children. Her dedication is evident in the time and care she invests, whether it is in our Foundation Phase education or our youth development projects she injects her enthusiasm and passion to bring a bit of happiness into their lives.

Jane

Jane has a passion for supporting youth and encouraging them towards a better life, one away from gangsterism and drug abuse. She also has a love of gardening and through her community garden she supplies fresh vegetables for her community and for her soup kitchen, where she provides a healthy daily meal to marginalised youths.

Philippa

Philippa is a speech therapist & total animal-aholic. Helping at Little Smarties Pet Care project brings her great fulfillment. Seeing the joy of education at Little Smarties always makes her smile. She is determined to ensure better care and healthier lives for the animals through greater community awareness & understanding.

Vivian

Vivian channels her energy into improving lives and driving meaningful change. She does this with her unique blend of kindness and purposeful action.Vivian is instrumental in empowering vulnerable communities by creating opportunities and building strong partnerships and is proudly part of the Out The Box team.
